Croom has fought in Bellator and Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), but made a bang on his introduction to the UFC as he wasted no time dismantling his opponent.
A vicious left hook floored Roberts 16 seconds into the fight and Croom secured top position before Roberts worked his way back onto his feet.
But Croom tightened his grip in a guillotine choke and dragged his rival down to the canvas, then against the cage, forcing Roberts to tap out.
Croom's win is the fastest finish for a debuting fighter in UFC lightweight history (31 seconds), per @ESPNStatsInfo https://t.co/acIAFbEpLU— Ariel Helwani (@arielhelwani) September 12, 2020
Croom’s effort was a highlight of a preliminary card filled with early finishes. Sabina Mazo defeated Justine Kish in the third round via a rear-naked choke, Jalin Turner submitted Brok Weaver in the second round of their fight and Alexander Romanov’s arm triangle took care of Roque Martinez.
