The central meeting of 19th round justified expectations of football-lovers. Fans, spectators watched the match in which two leading teams of our country took part.
Speaking about the match firstly we must mention about titanic efforts made by representatives of Metallurg’s technical service in order to provide a field of good quality. The field was covered by especial film, the heating functioned so players of both teams could show their best. Delegate from FFU Nikolay Kurilko said that Metallurg’s workers had performed an exploit providing a grass plot of superb quality.
The match was started with hosts’ attacks. After a flank Kingsley’s pass Mguni did not manage to score from 5 metres. Than Lazic hit ball above the goal. One more promising attack was over by Mguni’s blow from offside position. Hirnyky practically did not disturb Dislenkovic who returned Fernandinho and other players’ blows. The outcome of the match took place on the last minute of the first half. Kobin received Fernandinho’s pass, hit a ball in the penalty area, Gladkiy caught it and kicked the goal.
The second half passed as dictated by hosts. Nikolay kostov’s team took the initiative at once. There were many flank attacks of Metallurg. An activity of Boaventura, Mario Sergio and central midfielders permitted hosts to control completely the march of events. Generally speaking Metallurg’s play merits the most flattering comments. There was only one shot on goal from gests side in the second half; they concentrated attention on their defence. But Metallurg stormed Pyatov’s goal. Soares’ blow was not imprecise, Godin hit ball at the rival’s defender. Yankov had the best chance to score. Chavdar kicked ball but a goalpost saved Shakhtar. After Adriano’s red card hosts rushed to storm the rival. Shalhtar’s players stalled for time, received yellow cards for it but they won the match. Oleksiy Godin had a chance to bring the score level during the stoppage time but ball flew above the goal.
Our team merited supporters praise even if it lost the match. Metallurg’s fans thanked their idols for the worthy match. «Boys, thank you for this game», - they said to Metallurg’s players. Our team players thanked their devoted supporters.
Metallurg and Shakhtar will play soon one more match – on24 March there will be the semifinal match of the Cup of Ukraine.
